Bjorg-Ida Hoyem
After practising for 12 years, Bjorg-Ida did her teacher training in 2016 during a temporary move to Norway. Originally from Norway, and a mother of three, Bjorg-Ida's main aim is to take yoga off the mat and apply it to everyday life. She understands the importance of practising 'practical' yoga in a busy schedule, but also emphasizes how vital it is to make a conscious choice to take time out to connect with yourself. As a mother she is well aware of the guilt that comes with taking "selfish" time out for oneself, but because of that she also knows that you have to look after yourself to be able to look after and give service to others.

Bjorg-Ida's style of teaching builds on her hatha yoga foundation, has a strong emphasis on mindfulness, and is slow rather than fast, which allows her students to really connect with their breath during practice. She encourages her students to find "their own yoga", tuning into their own bodies and needs, and moving away from should's, wants and comparisons. That way she hopes to support her students to make the most out of their time on the mat.

What initially started as a wish to deepen her own practice has now grown into a life changing passion for teaching yoga and connecting with students and like minded people. She feels very humbled to be in a position where she is able to hold space for, nurture and be of service to others.
For Bjorg-Ida, being a yoga teacher is a lifestyle, and a lot of her spare time is used practicing what she teaches, as well as studying yoga philosophy to stay inspired and to continually grow. She feels this allows for more meaningful relations with family, friends and students.
