What is special about this training?
We know you have choices about where to do teacher training. The standards, content and cost vary enormously. We’re really proud of the training we’ve created and here are the reasons why:
GENUINE COMMUNITY - We’re a small and friendly studio that vibes like a family. We will get to know you and support your journey one to one.
EXCEPTIONAL FACULTY - Some of the best teachers in Australia are part of our team. We’re so proud of the caliber of education you’re going to receive.
EXPERIENCED LEAD TEACHER - Lead trainer Katie Rose has been teaching yoga for over 30 years and is a published author, Jivamukti Yoga Advanced Teacher and lifelong Bhakti Yoga devotee. You couldn’t be in better hands.
DOUBLE ACCREDITATION - We’re accredited with Yoga Alliance and Yoga Australia. It doesn’t get better than that.
SPACIOUS LEARNING TIMEFRAME - The training is thorough but not rushed. We’ve mapped it out so there will be plenty of integration time between our learning sessions together. This is a journey of preparing to teach but it’s also a personal development journey and you’ll come out the other side of it a completely transformed person.
HYBRID MODEL OF LEARNING - We meet in person and online and enjoy the best of both worlds.
HIGH-TOUCH / SMALL GROUP FORMAT - Maximum of 16 students, you’ll be supported individually and make deep friendships that last for years.
AUTHENTIC TEACHINGS - From scripture to subtle anatomy. From lineage to stories of ashrams and temples in India and everything in between. This is yoga as it’s lived, sitting in the context of absolutely honouring the roots and traditions of the teachings.
Guiding principles for the Botannix Yoga Teacher Training
Our training is
ROBUST - Our curriculum is comprehensive, and thorough. You will develop your personal practice, your spiritual connection and your teaching skills with lots of opportunity to repeat, practice and get real time feedback and support as we work through the carefully curated content of the training step by careful step together.
RELEVANT - Yoga is an ancient tradition that’s thousands of years old but the magic of yoga is that it’s supremely relevant today. While we will have a strong focus on scripture and authentic, lineage based teachings we will also connect the dots to how they are relevant for you in your life now. Supporting your teacher training journey is your Bhakti Club membership which covers areas such as parenting, relationships, sadhana and spiritual activism so you can continue to be supported on this journey beyond our classroom time together.
REVERENT - Yoga is a practice grounded in the sacred and spiritual. We approach the teachings with a light-hearted and fun attitude but we also hold a deep respect and reverence for the footsteps we follow. You’ll learn about cultural appropriation and how to avoid it, we will sit in respect for First Nations teachings and their impact in yogic thinking. You’ll meditate and chant mantra and feel the sacred mood (or ‘bhav’) of yoga starting to seep into every cell of your body and every facet of your life.

50-Hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Katie Rose
Subtle Anatomy, Prana & The True Essence of Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is one of the most misunderstood and poorly taught branches of yoga. Often mistaken for Yin Yoga, it is rarely presented in alignment with its true Vedic roots and yogic subtle anatomy. This 50-hour teacher training is an immersion into the depth, precision, and intelligence of restorative yoga, not as a passive practice, but as a profound science of prana, energetic balance, and inner awakening.
At the heart of this training is prana, the guiding intelligence of life itself. When we learn to feel prana and respond to its movement within us, we awaken an inner guidance system (human Sat Nav!) that leads us beyond external techniques into the true essence of yoga. We do not need to look outside of yoga’s lineage and teachings to understand how energy moves through the body.
While Yin Yoga works within the Chinese meridian system, restorative yoga aligns deeply with the wisdom of Vedic philosophy, yogic subtle anatomy, and Ayurveda, offering a complete and holistic framework for working with prana. This is primarily an asana-based training, enriched with subtle anatomy experiential practices and theory. We will explore the full methodology of restorative yoga, deepening both personal practice and teaching skills.
What you'll learn:

🌀 Restorative asana in depth—a detailed study of 15 key postures, including prop use and adaptations.
🌀 How to use props skilfully—understanding their role in support, energetic alignment, and deep release.
🌀 Sequencing for integration—how to weave restorative postures into a regular vinyasa or hatha class.
🌀 Sequencing for stand-alone restorative classes—crafting practices that are intelligent, effective, and energetically aligned.
🌀 Prana as guiding intelligence—how to sense, trust, and follow its movement for awakened yoga practice.
🌀 Understanding Kundalini—the fire that animates the 'fire pit' bowl within the body and how to work with it.
🌀 How dormant and activated energy manifests—recognising and guiding pranic movement.
🌀 Prana follows attention—how your focus directs life force and transforms inner experience.
🌀 The chakras beyond pop spirituality—as prana (energy), tattva (elemental/physical reality), and samskara (mental & emotional imprinting).
🌀 The balance of Pingala (masculine) and Ida (feminine) channels—how they shape mind, body, and practice.
🌀 Ayurveda & restorative yoga—how to adapt practice for different doshas (individual constitutions).
🌀 Stillness as the meeting point of mind and heart—where meaning and feeling unite, and true yoga begins.
Who this training is for:
✔️ Yoga teachers looking to refine their understanding and gain CPD-accredited certification.
✔️ Serious students of yoga who want to go beyond the surface and work with energy in a meaningful way.
Training Format
📍 Hybrid learning—a blend of online study and in-person training for a fully immersive experience. This training is a call to reclaim depth, precision, and energetic awareness in a widely misunderstood practice. If you are ready to refine your perception, challenge misconceptions, and awaken the intelligence of prana within, this journey is for you.
